Village of Hope
A Christian Orphanage and Children's Shelter

Early in 2002 God began planting a vision in the hearts of several people to build a place for orphaned and abandoned children in the hills of Talibon, Bohol. That vision has grown into Village of Hope, a place where up to two hundred children at a time will find hope and healing in Jesus Christ.
Filipino children are
homeless
The Need
In 2002 there were approximately 83 million people living in the Philippines. Of those 83 million, there were an estimated 1.5 million children under the age of twelve who were homeless, orphaned, or abandoned. By Philippine National Police estimates, at least 60,000 of those children were being exploited through child prostitution, and many more through child labor. God has given the call of sharing His love and protection with these children.
The Vision
you can't help but hope
We have seen the harshness of life Filipino street children face. Village of Hope will be something new, something bright, something fresh. Imagine a small Village of twenty homes; the center of the Village is a church and a Christian school shaped like a castle! The houses don't look like grown-ups designed them though! They're shaped like giant presents and other fun shapes with bright colors that make children smile! The grass is green and soft, unlike the streets where most residents of the Village used to sleep. There are playgrounds and laughter and safe grown-ups who love and take care of the children and teach them about Jesus. It's a safe place. It's a loving place. It's a happy place. It's a place of Hope.
Words can only do so much to communicate our vision. We'd love for you see it. Please feel free to download this presentation and share it as often as you like.
To the Future
Ground has not yet been broken for Village of Hope. We hope to take in our first few children this year and house them in a home on our Bible college grounds until the first home is built, God willing, by the end of this year. We plan to incorporate our short-term missions ministry into the building projects, bringing skilled workers from American churches onto the mission field to build hope. Celso and Reme Ramos, Filipino church planters who have volunteered to run the first home, have already begun a home-church in the area.
God has already put the heart of Village of Hope into motion. We'd like to extend to you an opportunity to partner with us in this life-saving Adventure. Also, if you would like to be a part of the building team for Village of Hope we invite you to join us on a short-term missions team.
